Avoid claim review delays by submitting patient x-rays correctly

Increase productivity and create a positive experience for you and your patients by submitting pre-treatment estimates (PTE) or date of service (DOS) claims electronically.

The best way to submit patient x-rays with PTE/DOS claims is:

• Reference the UnitedHealthcare commercial plan or UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Advantage clinical guidelines on the portal for CDT codes that require appropriate documentation, narratives and x-rays or clinical photos
• Upload x-rays or clinical photos using the UnitedHealthcare Dental Provider Portal
• Upload x-rays or clinical photos using other available electronic data interchange portals

Avoid submitting photocopied or scanned x-rays with your claims through the mail as this will delay reviews and could cause you and your team to spend more time on administrative tasks.
